From the Canadian Highlands, Kariba’s ultra-premium spring water is as pure in taste as it is kind to the planet

Toronto-based brand Kariba’s ultra-premium spring water is sourced from the most remarkable centuries-old glacial debris of the great Eastern Highlands of Ontario and is naturally filtered through rock weathering and soil formation. According to the company, co-founded by Joram Mudzingwa, it set out to create a “healthy and balanced impact-conscious alternative to sugary drinks, simultaneously mitigating the effects of single-use plastic water bottles, one bottle at a time”.

The Eastern Highlands are one of Canada’s most remarkable natural treasures, a fascinating landscape only around two-and-a-half-hours from Kariba’s headquarters. With its unique geology, it combines water, rock and natural beauty to create a region as rich in character and rugged charm as it is rich in gems and minerals. The water that runs down through the hills is consequently as pure and health-giving as any found on Earth. It is perfect, then, for Kariba, a company founded in 2019 with the core vision that a healthy lifestyle should be interconnected with the health of the environment, shown by its tagline “Life made pure”.

Joram named the brand after the great Kariba Gorge on the Zambezi River, which has itself provided life and health to communities of Southern Africa for thousands of years. Today, Kariba produces ultra-premium carbonated and still spring water in cans and bottles filled at source from the mineral-rich, pure clean waters of the Canadian landscape. The 100 per cent natural water is low in sodium, with a pH level of 7.7, and contains naturally occurring magnesium, calcium, bicarbonates and mineral salts in a perfect and entirely natural balance, bringing great benefits to the human body.

Kariba also aims to bring great benefits to the planet. The brand’s ultra-premium spring water is sold only in elegant glass bottles and aluminium cans, both recyclable or reusable. The former is perfect for the table, and the latter, with its resealable open/close tops, makes for easy on-the-go convenience. Kariba can also provide its canned and bottled pure water with customised labels, and partners with like-minded organisations at major events to help reduce waste and carbon footprints. All the while, Kariba provides the cleanest-tasting, most refreshing water the Canadian great outdoors can deliver.
